Evolution Healthcare Limited are celebrating a significant milestone this month; their 25th Birthday.
Formed in 1997 by Aidan Lafferty, qualified nurse turned Medical Equipment sales rep, Evolution Healthcare has grown into one of the major suppliers of specialised Healthcare equipment across Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and Scotland.
Coming from humble beginnings, the business started by selling lymphatic drainage solutions and aromatherapy supplies. Soon after, Aidan was brought back to his healthcare routes and began stocking a small range of postural seating options and fulfilling every order from one van and using his garage as a stock room. As time went on, Evolution Healthcare took up a small premises in Dungannon and then in 2019, the business moved to a brand-new facility with a full showroom in Cabragh on the old Ballygawley Road.
Owner, Aidan Lafferty, said: “The business has seen over two decades of unbroken growth and with that a team of professional, compassionate employees joined forces. We’re delighted with our new offices in Ballygawley, and we also have a distribution centre in Penicuik outside Edinburgh, where our Scottish team fulfil contracts to the NHS.”
Now boasting more than 15 staff, Evolution Healthcare have continued to develop their offering to hospitals, the health service, care homes and end users. They have not only expanded their team but also their product range and stock everything from seating, to hoists, Showering Solutions, and sleep systems. The company has moulded its team into a highly trained, empathetic workforce who really care for their clients and try everything to enhance their quality of life when using our appliances.
Trusted by the health trusts throughout Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and Scotland, Evolution Healthcare have delivered thousands of pieces of disability equipment to hospitals, care facilities and residential homes. The business holds most of the small appliance contracts and Ceiling Track Hoist Installations within Northern Ireland, several contracts for the Health Service in Ireland and supply all regions of NHS Scotland.
“We have just recently secured a renewal with the Belfast Health & Social Care Trust to supply, install and maintain tracking hoists in domestic premises and extended our contract to provide Tilt in Space Shower Chairs for the HSE”, said Aidan.

From our reps to our administrative staff and our maintenance teams, everyone works so hard to deliver the best service to our clients and that is something we pride ourselves on. Some of our team members have been with us for 18 years and I am so glad to have created a working environment that allows my team to grow with the business.”
